Principal's Message

Dear Milliken Elementary Families,
I want to welcome you to another year at Milliken Elementary School. Our amazing teachers work hard to create an exceptional learning environment for our students. We are all very excited about the school year, where classrooms once again will be full of activities and ideas that challenge and inspire our students.
Throughout the year, exciting things are happening in our classrooms and on our campus! We encourage you to get involved by joining our Parent Teacher Organization, volunteering at school activities, and taking an active role in your child’s education. You are the best gift you can give your child. You are your child’s most important teacher. Spend time with your child. The elementary years go quickly, but they are among the most important and fundamental years of your child’s life. It is my desire to keep the focus on increasing student achievement and doing whatever it takes to help ALL our students be successful and enjoy coming to school each day. I believe that learning should be fun and that an elementary school should pave the way for a lifetime of learning.
As we partner together to ensure the success of each of our students, the staff and I look forward to an amazing school year filled with learning opportunities that will support and help your child grow to their fullest potential!
Thank you for choosing Milliken Elementary and allowing my team and me to work with your children each day.

Assistant Principal's Message

Dear Families and Future Students,
My name is Danny Cohoon and I will be your Assistant Principal. I have been an Elementary Education for 13 years. In the classroom, I taught 3rd Grade and 5th Grade. Outside of the classroom, I have been an Instructional Coach and an Assistant Principal.
I am a Johnstown native and have called Johnstown “home” for my entire life. In fact, I attended Milliken Elementary School and Milliken Middle School, so these buildings also feel like “home.” Being in this position, in my home district, is very special and something I take a lot of pride in.
I have been married to my wife, Sasha, since 2013 and we have a daughter named Charlotte. I love sports, especially Colorado sports- Go Nuggets! I enjoy working out, watching Charlotte participate in all of her extra curricular activities, and I enjoy collecting sports cards.
Relationships are very important to me. Relationships with fellow staff members, all of my students, and all families will always be a top priority for me. I look forward to forming strong relationships with everyone that I come into contact with.
I am thrilled to partner with you and work together to get the absolute most out of your child. I believe the elementary years are when students learn essential life skills, work habits, and the foundation for success. These life skills, work habits, and foundations will prepare them for the rest of their lives. One of my favorite things about Elementary Education is getting to witness my students, past and present, achieve accomplishments in their lives.
